As a Sales Manager, you will be driving the sales performance of Traction within Motion Business in Richmond Virginia, specifying and implementing effective sales and business development initiatives in line with global strategy. You will be leading and coaching the local sales organization to meet ambitious targets and exceed customer expectations and provide sales leadership for eMobility Traction Products and Systems in North America to support business growth and profitability targets. This includes providing guidance on key marketing and business development opportunities.

President, US Traction

Your responsibilities

  • Achieve revenue and sales targets as defined by the business leadership. Analysis of the market, competitors, customers, and their interaction
  • Development of new customers; key interface to customers and end users. Develop strategy, tactics, and sales plans for sales of Traction eMobility Products and Systems for Transportation industry applications
  • Identify and report on business opportunities in targeted segments. Maintain and report the pipeline of the projects for North American market through salesforce reporting
  • Bid & offer management - Technical and commercial bid preparation for Traction power electronics proposals. Preparation of tenders together with the team of specialists
  • High level of interaction within Global Traction Division across all regions, and collaboration with other Divisions, supporting eMobility and Transportation industries
  • Develop processes to effectively handoff projects to Project Management (PM)
  • Represent ABB in appropriate industry associations, conferences, trade shows, and industry networking events. Contract negotiation, and strong legal understanding (for Contracts and Buy America requirements)

Your background

  • Bachelor degree and 8 years of technical sales experience or Associate degree and 10 years of technical sales experience required
  • eMobility/Transport industry experience preferred
  • Travel up to 70% required
  • English (Fluent), German, French (helpful but not required)
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
